Task Force Scientific Engineering Education (TFSEE)

The TFSEE envisages to realise the following objectives:

  • reflect on national conditions as well as universities profiles and act as a pool of experts to proactively influence European policies in higher education in general – including voicing and safeguarding the interests of universities of science & technology in the EHEA and the New Skills Agenda for Europe - and STEAM education in particular, react flexibly and rapidly on ad hoc requests from the European institutions feeding into the decision-making by the Board of Directors and represent the association towards European institutions and stakeholders
  • learn from each other through analysing the different scienitific engineering education approaches within our Members, detailing the major challenges to scientgific engineering education and addressing them through sharing experiences, identifying best practices and providing guidance through a final report by October 2018
  • define core elements of future science & technology education and reflecting about the dynamic aspects making engineering education programmes open for integrating new findings from research and to adapt to skills needed in engineering practice

The TFSEE undertakes the following activities:

  • convene twice per year, one of which preferably en marge of the annual meetings
  • draft and revise statements feeding into decision making by the Board of Directors
  • finalisation of a paper on the future of scientific engineering education in Europe
  • co-organise a high-level conference in October 2017
  • represent the association towards European institutions and stakeholders
  • provide ad hoc and on request support to the Board of Directors
  • report to the General Assembly on its work on an annual basis

For more information, please contact the TFSEE Chair Ralph Bruder (Vice President Academic Affairs TU Darmstadt) or the TFSEE Secretary Lieve Coninx (Head of Relations).
