We seek a Senior Policy Officer for Research & Innovation to start as soon as possible working full-time at our Secretariat.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • contribute to the aims and activities of our Association in research and innovation
  • promote our Association as stakeholder at European level
  • represent our Association externally
  • serve and advise our governing bodies, committees and task forces

EXAMPLES OF TASKS

  • gather intelligence and provide high-quality and targeted information
  • initiate and contribute to positions of Members and decision-making
  • participate in and organise events and report thereon
  • initiate, monitor and support new strategies and activities in European Research Area, open science policy and innovation and funding within CESAER and beyond
  • coordinate, liaise with and lobby activities of members at national and European institutions and stakeholder level

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • master degree with at least five years relevant working experience
  • knowledge and experience in policy-making processes at European level and of European Union institutions and elaborate corresponding networks
  • in-depth knowledge of European research and innovation policies and funding programmes and related lobbying
  • experience of working with senior university leaders, senior academics and policy makers in an international context
  • excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • track record in delivering high-quality results under pressure and working autonomously as well as in a small team
  • fluency, both spoken and written, in English and at least two other languages widely spoken in Europe
  • excellent oral and written communication skills and proven track record in writing and editing articles, reports and policy papers
  • excellent IT and social media skills
  • willingness to travel within Europe and beyond and work in non-office times such as evenings and weekends
  • excellent investigative skills
  • distinct integrity, loyalty and service- and result-orientation
  • legal entitlement to work in EU

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • experience with membership-based organisations and universities of science and technology
