We are pleased to announce that Orla Feely, our Vice-President for Resources and Treasurer, has been appointed Vice-President of Engineers Ireland. Ms Feely, Vice-President for Research, Innovation and Impact at University College Dublin (UCD), was appointed during the organisation’s Annual General Meeting on 30th May.
Engineers Ireland is the voice of the profession in Ireland, representing over 25,000 members from every engineering discipline, ranging from students to fellows. Founded in 1835, it is one of the largest and oldest professional associations in the country.
Ms Feely was nominated as a Director 2018-2020 and elected as our Vice-President for Resources and Treasurer in April, taking over from David FitzPatrick and continuing the significant contribution of UCD in supporting our finances through technical support and leadership.
In addition to her roles at CESAER and Engineers Ireland, Ms Feely has served has served as Chair of the Irish Research Council and on the EU Advisory Group on Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions. She is a Member of the Royal Irish Academy and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Irish Academy of Engineering.
