During 2023, our association engaged in seven key areas of work through our task forces: Sustainability, Openness of Science & Technology, Learning & Teaching, Innovation, Benchmark, Human Resources, and Sustainable Funding.
For each of our areas of work, the report summarises the activities and deliverables of our bodies and highlights the impact we achieved. This is further exemplified by our ‘impact stories’ which dig deeper on four of our achievements on topics such as research security, generative AI, boosting success rates in Horizon Europe, and academic freedom.
“I am proud of the efforts the over 1500 individuals from our association’s 58 Member universities dedicated during 2023 towards our shared mission to champion excellence in higher education, training, research and innovation. Through our collective endeavours, we have not only embraced change but also harnessed its potential for positive transformation.” – Rik Van de Walle, President of CESAER from 2020 to 2023
We extend our gratitude to all the leaders and experts from our Members for all their contributions during 2023, and look forward to continuing our efforts together.
