Julian-Alexis Kasapov has been appointed as our new Information and Communication Officer where he will support the Secretariat in ensuring high-quality stakeholder engagement and advancing CESAER’s active work.
A Swedish national with a deep passion for international affairs and has spent the past several years working across Europe in diverse professional settings. From the European Association of Communication Agencies in Brussels to the Swedish Embassy in North Macedonia he has continuously contributed to cross-cultural project implementation, effective communication and impactful stakeholder engagement. In his last role at the Jacques Delors Institute in Paris, a leading think-tank on European affairs, he was part of the Jacques Delors Energy Centre coordinating, implementing and promoting EU-funded civil society projects focused on energy efficiency.
Julian is a KU Leuven alumnus, having studied European affairs in the heart of Europe at one of the world’s leading universities he discovered first-hand the crucial role universities play in fostering new talent across all fields.
In addition to Swedish he speaks English, Bulgarian, French, Turkish and is looking to learn Serbo-Croatian. When not working he enjoys exploring and learning new things, working out or just enjoying a coffee with friends.
At the conclusion of his introduction week, Julian shared:
“I consider it rewarding to be back in the city and environment where I was a student but to now be on the other side and contribute to the effort for a united, better integrated and more impactful European research and higher education domain.”
