The revised version of the European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity, to which our association provided feedback and input, was released today at the ALLEA General Assembly on 23 June in London.
The European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity “serves the European research community as a framework for self-regulation across all scientific and scholarly disciplines and for all research settings”.
Our association was pleased to be invited to contribute to its revision, which it did with the help of our task forces.
The Code of Conduct outlines the responsibilities of the research community “to formulate the principles of research, to define the criteria for proper research behaviour, to maximise the quality, reliability, and robustness of research and its results, and to respond adequately to threats to, or violations of, good research practices”, through a set of responsibilities of all actors involved in research.
Background information on the Code of Conduct be found on ALLEA’s webpage.
The code is of particular importance for our association as it elaborates on a key part of our association’s values.
