University of Belgrade joins as new Member

​We are delighted to announce that the University of Belgrade has joined as a new Member, adding strength to our network as one of Europe’s largest academic institutions and one of the most important institutions in southeast Europe.

We are delighted to announce that the University of Belgrade has accepted our invitation to join us as a new Member as of 1st January 2020.

With over 90,000 students enrolled, the university is one of Europe’s largest academic institutions, and one of the most important educational and research institutions in southeast Europe. It is a comprehensive, research-oriented university dedicated to academic excellence, performing particularly highly in the fields of mathematics and physics.

The University of Belgrade will strive to be an active Member of this distinguished association and to promote its mission, aims and values”, says Ivanka Popović (Rector of the University of Belgrade).

The university reinforces our strong and united voice of universities of science and technology in Europe. We look forward to working together to advance our common mission to champion excellence in higher education, training, research; influence debate; contribute to the realisation of open and sustainable knowledge societies; and, deliver significant scientific, economic, social and societal impact.

Our thirty-second General Assembly on 18th October formally invited the University of Belgrade and its Rector Ivanka Popović accepted the invitation in person.
