The open letter published today is addressed to Simona Kustec (Slovenian Minister of Education, Science and Sport) and Mariya Gabriel (European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth) in view of the Competitiveness Council that will finalise the ERA governance proposal at the end of November.

It references the clear calls for stakeholders’ involvement in the Communication ‘A new ERA for Research and Innovation’ and in the subsequent Council Conclusions, and welcomes the proposal of the Slovenian Presidency to ensure appropriate representation and set up an open online voluntary stakeholder register.

The letter follows our longstanding commitment to establishing the ERA and our previous joint letter together with LERU that called for direct, immediate, inclusive, structured and sustained involvement of research and innovation stakeholders in the ERA governance system.
